Aftermath

by Pam Brighton July. 03, 2017 1900 views

The aftermath of the Knysna fires. Almost a month ago the hot dry winds ignited fires in the forests around Knysna. The drought of the preceding months left forests, gardens and homes tinder dry and vulnerable. Now we wait for the first green shoots to appear. The rebuilding of the town will take much longer and the the lives lost are gone forever.

Very sad - this photo is a disclosure of distress. It looks like an apocalypse scene. A very expressive photo, Pam, it touches me deeply.

A storytelling photo, Pam. My thoughts are with the people who are affected by this.

This photo makes me feel uncomfortable in a weird way. It is  not the picture but more the thought that I think when I look at it. At the same time I love pictures that awaken emotions! Very nice.

We had the same problem here. 64 lives were lost in a stretch of road after being trapped by the fire in their cars. My country is in mourning. Your picture is so beautiful in its bareness

64 lives! where is home Antonio? I read about horrific fires in Spain. Its impossible to comprehend what those people in the cars must have felt like.
