Old water mill

This old water mill in Haarlem dates back to the early 1800s. Sadly most of the beautiful yellowwood floors and beams have been scavenged by developers who pay the locals to steal them. Only the heavy gears, wheels and a grindstone remain. I shot into the afternoon sun and liked the play of sun on the old mud brick wall.

Very different from what happens in Europe, where those relics are usually restored. Love the picture Pam.
