04-07-08 Theme: Classroom Capers

by Tracy April. 07, 2008 2234 views

Well…there really hasn't been much “capering” going on in my classroom lately. TCAP (our state standardized tests) are next week, so we have been in total prep mode. I HATE IT. Pretty much, we all do. BUT it's definitely a must. That is all I am going to say about it…no one wants me to start a tangent. :)

Anyhoo, these shots are of some artwork that my fifth graders worked on in my after school club. They did such a good job…I was very proud. I figured they deserved a day on my blog. We dont get a lot of art here in the urban environment, so their final products were quite inspiring!

Down with “THE TEST,”
Mrs. Crosby

We worked on a botanical project and since it was winter, we used pictures of plants. The kids used oil pastels.

Whose work is that on the right? OOHHHHHH, right…Tionne's. :)

This is our Aboriginal artwork, and poems to match.

The plant cell, done with the oils.

Haikus? Cinquains? Cant remember…but one of them.

I enjoy passing by this artwork everyday. We have got to figure out a way to incorporate more art.
I'll be sooo glad when the test is over, too.

These are great... that type of stuff was always so much fun in school! *sighs* I miss it... maybe I should've gone to school to be a graphic designer and I could spend my days doing that stuff in my office as opposed to the paper pushing, meetings and client work I'm doing!! hahaha... but then again, it's fun to save the creative stuff for when I get home!

I'm with oldbabe I can't draw stick figures. Nice. OHH you don't like the Leave No Child Behind (just kidding) my husband was an educator. I've heard it all... and that's all I have to say about that.

That's sure a lot of artistic talent. I admire people who have it. Love #1. (I can't even draw a stick figure).
