06-17-08 Retro Cool

I have been wanting one of these old metal gliders for my back porch forever. I've looked at yard sales, flea markets, and what not, but never found one. My in-laws happened to find an old one in their hometown in Louisiana. They asked the owner about it, and he gave it to them for free! YAY!

It wasn't in tip top shape, and showed it's age, however, I knew with a little TLC…it would be back in business! When Andre's family came into town a couple of weeks ago they brought it. Andre's dad sanded it down they left. Andre painted it, and put it together.

I love it!! It's really fun, and I think it's a great color. I am currently looking for some fun material to buy to match. I want to make some pillows for it.

We hadn't had a chance to show Andre's parents the final product, so here we go.

Thanks Crosby clan for bringing it all the way to TN!!

I'm jealous too!! I've been looking also! Mine would be red! It reminds me of my grandma. She had one on the front porch. Don't be surprised if queen and I figure out where you live and come lift it when you least expect it ;-)

How cool!
