07-04-08 America's Independence Day

by Tracy July. 04, 2008 2325 views

Today we were lucky enough to be invited to a 4th of July BBQ over at “Nana's” house. Nana is Julie's mother-in-law (whose yard you saw in an earlier post. [photoblog.com])
It was really nice of them to include us in their festivities, and they treated us like family. We ate loads of fabulous food, and it was a great excuse for me to make my flag cake.

Nana's beautiful yard was decked with flags, and I had a lot of fun attempting to capture the summer patriotism that was presented.

It was a blessed day and we were all thankful for God, country, and family.

Hope you all enjoyed the day (American or not)-
Tracy

This cake turned out better than Cash's birthday cake… :)

Great set Tracy.... I really love the first shot, and your flag cake looks delicious!! I have a recipe for one in my Barefoot Contessa cookbook that I would've loved to try out for Brett and his family.... had I not left Boston on Tuesday night :(

Glad to hear you and your family had a fantastic day!!

Yummy... the cake looks delicious! Even thoguh I'm not American, I can appreciate the pride your country has in their flag. :)

I really like the perspective of the first shot. I wasn't too happy with my flag shots....but that was because I didn't think of this cool way to shoot it!

It was great spending the Fourth with you guys:)) The cake was delicious!!
