Batman :)

A sleeping bat.
Could be - Northern Bat (Eptesicus nilssoni) ?
He was sleeping between two timber boards of the roof of our sauna. He was so small I could only use macro settings on camera.
Outdoor temperature was some +5C (+41F) at noon so it could be just the temporary sleeping place for him before the long winter-sleep in his more usual place in winter - in our cellar.

The sleeping position was vertical, headlong

According to books: Northern Bat (Eptesicus nilssoni) - body length 50..60mm, arm length 37..44mm; Weights aver. 7.5 .. 13 grams (0.27 .. 0.46 oz). Eats smaller insects , also butterflies. Hibernating in cellars or caves where is constant temperature of -1 .. +5C in winter. Could live up to 15,5 years.

the distance between the two boards was some 1-2cm (0.4in - 0.8in)

Lovely shots of this tiny bat. I have some in the ceiling of my porch, especially in summer and they hide in very small places.

So cute!

"You and I exist <> ourselves. But so does a dog, and in that case so do insects and creatures smaller still however far we may go down the scale of organisms from complex to primitive we cannot draw a line between those wich exist inside themselves and those wich do not. This <> existence cannot be a result of greater complexity. If the tiniest creatures did not have their own kind of inside existence to begin with, no increase in complexity could endow them with it." -Georges Bataille- from L´Érotisme

I added last one into my favorites. Thanks for sharing!
