OK, here goes, my first ever photo blog! Hope you enjoy!
I decided to start photo blogging to share my story with images instead of words. What better place to start than the place I feel like home even though I have never lived there before. Japan, my motherland. Japan, the country of amazing landscapes and culture. Japan, because of the delicious food.

Kinkakuji (Golden Pavilion) - Kyoto
These pictures were taken during my visit to Japan in 2015. It was the first trip to Japan with my boyfriend (now husband) and I remember that it was this trip that made me more passionate about photography and more motivated to improve my photography skills. At the time I didn't have the money for a new camera, so these pictures were taken with an old Canon EOS Kiss SLR. Obviously, there are too many beautiful places to fit into one page, so here is a small selection of the images I took.

Japan is full of incredible vistas and landscapes! Though sometimes the magic is in the little details that are easily overlooked. I try to find these little treasures and capture them on film (or memory card nowadays).

Going off the beaten track brings you to places you wouldn't have expected. For example this beautiful cosmos flower field in the rural town Ohara.

the gardens of Sanzen-in are dotted with cute little jizo statues
Miyajima (officially Itsukushima) a small and very photogenic island near the city of Hiroshima. The amazing view of the torii gate standing in the water when you arrive at the island, is one you can hardly forget.
