Lots of Birds... St. Leonard's Creek

Went back to see if the swan eggs hatched– no babies yet, but we had a close encounter with the swans who escorted us out of the area :) and saw lots of osprey, a heron, and an eagle.

Ok, now the mother is a little angry as we paddle by. It's a small area back there and they made the nest right in the middle of it and pretty close to the water.

She's even stomping her foot…

The swan escort– we were leaving the area of the nest and the father swan insisted on going in front of us, if we paddled past him he flew up ahead and stopped in front of us again.

What a great and beautiful variety of bird shots!! I chased a couple blue herons around yesterday and never did get close enough for a decent shot! LOVE the light in #9!

Oh. Wow. The variety of large birds that you have is amazing. The eggs should be hatched soon and we'll be rewarded with more nature shots.
