Fair Park Out takes SGK walk

This is a migrated legacy post. Image resolution is low.
These were some shots I took while waiting for the walkers to head for the closing ceremony from the holding area last weekend at the SGK walk for the cure. Not much time to take advantage of the surrounding but got some ideas for future shooting.
Center of the State Fair of Texas centerpiece, the huge ferris wheel that overlooks the entire area.
It is a huge wheel, not on a par with the London Eye but it's the largest one I've seen.
You can rent the swan boats and paddle around in the reflecting pond in the park.
Almost like it was planned. The bald cypress color matched the sculptures at the south end of the pond.
Swan boats on the pond with one of the structures built for the Texas centenial in 1936. Good example of the art deco style in fashion at the time. All of the buildings built at that time were in the same theme with a pronounced Egyptian flair. Again plans for another shoot during the winter when I can get some storm clouds in the background.
Every time I've been in the area the turtles have been sunning themselves on these sculptures.
I think the guy in the back wants to pass on an obvious one lane track.
I just loved the reflections in this one.
