State Fair Night 2011

Not quite in the order that they were taken but you get the idea. The State Fair of Texas is BIG and colorful. Day time at the fair is fun but with the colors and shows the night is really the blast. A group of 7 photographers from the meetup group “The Complete Photographer” got together to shoot the fair. Haven't seent he rest yet but I have suspicions that with some of the group being pro's, I may get blown out of the water with some of their shots. Friendly competition is next Tuesday, wish me luck.

Texas Star

Texas Star from the center of the midway.

The Esplanade during the fireworks.

The Texas Star almost stopped from across the Swan Pond.

My favorite of the bunch. The Texas Star from across the Swan Pool in a 13 second exposure.

The star insert is red in this one.

Lavendar insert

Timed exposure.

Texas Star up close from the midway with an 8 second exposure at f/16 with blue lights showing.

Changing to the red and white lights.

The Vertigo, a rotating swing with the moon in back. Hand held at 1/30th sec.

Retry at getting a duplicate of a shot I took a few years ago. Multiple images of the rotating wheel—-Didn't work.

One of the Reliant floats in the nightly parade.

Indian archer in front of the Texas Hall of State.

Serious red fireworks on the Esplanade.

Inside of one of the merchant halls, just above the main doors.
