The Ice Pop Lady

Sunday we went to Deep Elum which is just east of downtown Dallas. This is an area which has few people during Sundays, being a nightclub area. We found a deserted spot and gave out the rest of the Ice Pops. I was the cutter since Annette wasn't with us. My hands almost froze since I didn't have any gloves. Didn't take a single shot that day which was odd because I can usually find a moment free to take a shot.

After just coming off of a SGK 60 mile walk in Atlanta two weeks ago she decided to support the walkers in the Dallas SGK 60 mile yesterday. Today when we went downtown to do it all over many of the walkers remembered her and dubbed her the Ice Pop Lady. When her hands got too cool she took a pair of ski gloves I had in the truck and used them the rest of the day. Some of you who have seen her photos before will recognize her as my wife, Janie. Next year she plans to walk the Dallas walk when she turns 60. She likes the thought of 60 at 60. So do I. If I'm not walking with her I'll be shooting next year and handing out the ice pops.

Janie, a couple of walkers, and Annette, our sweetheart of a daughter-in-law. She was the cutter, chopping off the tops of the ice pops so the walkers wouldn't have to struggle with them.

Not my truck in the background but our family sentiments.

I think Annette was ready to smack me for taking so many photos of them.

This walker just saw what Janie was giving away and was broadcasing what was going on and pointing to Janie and Annette.
