Nike...Not the shoes...The missiles

From the 50's until 1969 the Duncanville Library and Armstrong Park were the site of a Nike missle base. Now rather than protecting the people of the city it's a fun place to visit, with a kids park, old well house, old one room music building, library and senior center. There is also a .7mile walking trail through the park. Now it sees a lot of other kinds of Nikes

These three HDR images are all comprised of three photos shot at .7f apart. The first two use exposure blending and the second HDR processing. It's hard to imagine that we would need a missile base so far from the coast but I guess that those Solviet missiles that we were so afraid of could reach just about anywhere.
