First time this year that I have found an abundance of birds at my favorite shooting place around Dallas, Whiterock Lake. Most are pelicans but just a few of the surroundings included. Hope you enjoy.
I've been trying to get a reasonable shot of a redwing for a while, close but no cupie doll.
A fairly nice quarter angle shot of some kind of Pelican. Anyone know what kind?
I think he noticed me.
A little preening.
The guy on the right looks agitated.
I love to catch them just before they land.
This one wanted on an already full log.
Larry, Curley, Moe, and Shemp, I think.
Or maybe it's just the boys in the band.
For some reason everyone started flapping and fussing.
I think the guy on the right is lecturing his buddies.
Then the one just to his left starts to fuss back.
Most of the crew are on the log but this one looked pretty determined to get up on it.
Then he was joined by another one.
Finally all aboard.
Another shot of a redwing. I think he turned out a little blue. Gotta play with that one a bit.
Not quite so blue. I'll play with this one too.
Last years crop of cattails. They looked a little ragged but with the wind and rains we've had this year, I'm not surprised.
