Sunflowers up close and personal

Continuation from yesterday, shot this morning. I had time to get up close after wading through the weeks that seem to have had a few chiggers in them. I now wish I had pulled out the big lens and shot from the truck.

I don't think that you will see this combination anywhere but Texas.

Lucked out on these bird shots. I had just changed to my 300mm lens. He was a long way off.

Kind of facing us in this one, sorta.

I think he noticed me in this one.

This bunch paid attention and all looked my way when asked.

This group not only didn't pay attention to me but they all turned the other direction.

In a field of all these 5 ft. or so plants there was this little one about 3 ft. tall caught my attention.

Enlarge to see the shapes of the seeds in the center ring.

Just beginning to open. The leaves were very hairy.

Open just a little bit more.

In these next shots the flowers were not as developed as in the previous shots. Love the patterns.

This little guy stood out like a sore thumb on the green leaves.
