Ft Worth Rodeo Parade

The Ft. Worth Fat Stock Show and Rodeo Parade drew thousands of people last Saturday morning. Got there an hour early and still got a bad place on the curb. Decided to roam the sidewalks down to the other end of the parade from where I started and got a good look at the parade and crowd. The horses, mules, wagons, and other western themed things were good but the people were great. You can tell just who should be on a horse and who shouldn't.

When I was a kid we'd cover the windows with a heavy blanket to block out the sun and watch the rodeo on a little black and white TV. It was called the Fat Stock Show then. Bull riding was my favorite event. What else would a six year old in Texas think about?

Sorrow saddness……Nope just looking down at a little kid in front of him.

Traveling Man, made a lot of stops, all over the world. Look at all the patches of places where he has been.

Love you Daddy!

Cotton Candy, Cotton Candy! You know you want it. Get your sugar right here only $5 a bag. When he came back by a little while later he had sold his whole stick. Several other people went by selling Cotton Candy but he was the only one hawking his wares and selling out.

Just dribbling the time away till the parade starts.

Serious posture problem maybe but not really. She was just catching her baton and was a little off balance.

The Latino population was well represented with some great looking horses and vaqueros who looked like they could handle themselves on horseback.

From my standpoint I couldn't see who he was hollering at but I'll bet they heard it.

Can we say the “Cookie Duster” of the ages.

A Texas county sheriff's posse in black. Don't know what county though.

He looks like he was born to drive a wagon.

One happy lady sitting on that wagon. She really looks like she's enjoying herself.

The thousand mile stare. I've seen this look on the faces of a lot of vets. I'd just bet that he's seen Vietnam.

Hunt County Sheriff's posse. This flag bearer looks a little on the serious side to me.

Side saddle senora. Note the charm bracelet.

I can't be sure but I think that the muleskinner isn't too happy having to ferry around a big dog. At least that's what it looks like to me.

Few men realize this, but it is possible.

Great expression of determination on this cymbal player.

Traditional dress

Cool looking sombrero.

My exact sentiments. Nuff Said!

Psst, did you hear somebody say something about a glue factory? They're going to have a battle on their hands with me.
