Christmas at Our House

A few shots of Christmas at our house. We pretty well go all out. It took me almost a week to put up the decorations.

Kind of simple with most of the decorations inside.

One of the front windows with a Charlie Brown theme for my grandson Connor.

Candy canes for the posts on the porch.

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care.

Approximately 500 ornaments and 1500 lights adorn the tree. Many of the ornaments are over 50 years old. The quilt ladder holds just a few of Janie's quilts and if you look very closely you can see Santa and the Kissmooses too.

The bookshelves behind our recliners hold some of the nativity sets. They come from all over.

We do have fun. Top left photo is last year at Christmas when Connor made one of those bottom noises and we all looked to see what was going on. Center is a few years ago in an “All That Jazz” pose. Right was one of all the women a few years ago in red. Nativity below is a partially metal set we picked up on vacation one year. We try to buy one set when we do major travel.

More Christmas photos on the top shelf along with a stone walrus we got as a gift after someone made an Alaskan vacation. Below, an ammish nativity along with two Jim Stowe angels.

More Christmas group photos and a Jim Stowe nativity set.

Our latest nativity, moose taking the place of people. The photos span about 36 years. The kid on the fire truck in the lower left is the same as the upper right.

Breakfast dining room with china hutch and three nativities.

We also pick up crosses when we travel. The last one is the bottom one made by one of my wife's patients. The photo in the center is of a crucifiction in the catacombs of Salzberg, Austria. I printed it in 1968 and after this original print the negative was stepped on and ruined by someone in the lab not watching what they were doing.

Connor and Janie checking out his stocking.

Connor, Janie, and my oldest son Russell watching expanding toys in the water.

Once again, I see an upright photo in the upload and it comes out sideways. Can't resist the candy cane. stuck to everything he touched.
