Fog on the Farm

by Dean Singleton January. 23, 2017 1739 views

Saw my wife off to work the other morning, she still works, saw the fog and headed for Penn Farms at the Cedar Hill State Park near Cedar Hill, Texas.  All of the images are in HDR but kept as tame as I could and still get the effect I wanted

On the path leading down to the farm this old hay bailer sits looking ready to work, kind of.

Just past the bailer on the path down to the farm.

That's the main barn in the background with a broken loft door. Don't know what the implement in the front is.

Main Barn

Looks like maybe the cows got out here and maybe hiding in the fog.

Broken Down

This one was elected the photo of the week by the Rowlett, Texas Photography Club.

POW

I liked this shot better than the one that won Photo of the Week, but what do I know?

Liked This One Best

Anyone ever been taken out behind the tool shed. I was, and I grew up pretty good. Maybe we could build a few more of these for today's kids.

The Tool Shed

I've seen a lot of things in this old door from wedding shots to a dancing buzzard. You just never know what you might find.

The Barn Door

Just wondering where the rest of the picket fence disappeared to.

Where's the Rest?

Not much description needed for this one. An old barn, a little fog, and sunrise.

Dean...great photos....do you live on a farm? We have some similarities, I am 76 years old, and do digital graphic paintings, or photo manipulations, from folks on Photoblog.
What are similarities, we are "old schoolers from the 1940's., and we have seen a thing or two !!

Do you mind if i use your photos for painting subjects? I will always give credit to the photo person on my post.

We do have some similarities.  You've got me by five years though.  Hopefully I'll get there.  Triple heart bypass coming up Tuesday so I think I'll be out of commission for a few weeks.   Feel free to use any of them as subjects.  I'm from a small town in North Texas but lived in town.  The shots were from a state park a couple of miles from me.  I visit there quite often year round.  I agree, we have seen a thing or two.  Some good some not so.  Hope to hear from you again.

#2 reminds me on my Dad's old wheat drill still in our barn. Love the shots of the old tractor....only thing that would have made it better is if there were Deere's! I am definitely partial to them!!! : )

Thanks Becky. I'm slowly learning what some of the equipment is through the comments I've received. Makes it even more fun.

Love comparing and contrasting your rural fog pictures with my urban fog pictures from last week. Great shots!

Thanks Barry. I just think that fog adds so much depth to a photo it's almost three dimensional.

Brilliant images, Dean. You must have a steady hand if you got all these in HDR, without a tripod! Wow!

Thanks Jay. The Richardson camera group that I belong to claims that either I can stop my heartbeat to shoot or I just don't have one.
