Ghost Town

The Grove, a little Texas ghost town located between Temple and Gatesville.  First visited 30 plus years ago.  Recent shots.

General Mercantile, post office, and up the stairs to the dentist office.

All Locked Up

Old Saloon. Wonder if they had rye whiskey.

This stairway led to the dentist office but I also heard that it might have been a house of ill repute. Sounds like more fun to me.

Royal Crown Cola sometimes called R o C cola in many of the jokes I've heard.

R o C

Just a couple of signs left on the wall. One time there were many signs all over the property. I met the man who was restoring the Grove over 30 years ago. He open the doors to me and I had a ball. Not much left now.

This isn't the sign that was there originally. I think Dube may have been the man I met so long ago.

Sign, Sign, Everywhere a Sign.

Gravel street with a little mud just made the place seem a little older. The last in the line of buildings was a blacksmith shot. Covered well on the right.

Back in Time

Best stand of prickly pears I've seen in a while.

Prickly Pears.

Two general merchandise stores across the street from each other.

Graham General Merchandise

Just another view of the Grove.
