This is the Menai Bridge across the Menai Straights which separates the island of Anglesey from mainland Wales. It was shot on August 12th, 2020 at around 3:10pm.
This was developed from a single RAW file with the excellent Luminar 4 from Skylum.
I've shot this view from underneath the bridge many times before and never been happy with the results after developing with other software. I even had a go with the very same file using On1 Photo Raw 2020, but there was some sort of data error resulting in strange speckles where the sun is. It was this error that started me thinking of trying Luminar again.
I'd tried Luminar 4 when it first came out late last year and really loved it. But, once you had a few edits done, it became really unstable on Windows - very slow and crashed without warning. Unusable really.
At the point of witnessing the strange data error with On1, I'd also been experiencing extreme slowness when you have lots of edits. The workaround was to switch them off temporarily. Thankfully, now, Luminar ar version 4 .3, doesn't have any such problems.
Luminar 4 will be my main RAW development software for the foreseeable future.
