This picture got me thinking on how good we have it. I visited the Red Star line museum today, it is all about the big migration to America. Most Europeans were in poverty and on the run, the difference between upperclass and working people was enormous, I think we can not begin to grasp how it was in that time. Immigrants were locked up in quarantine, checked for ,yeah everything what they could think of. Than after a long seajourney with no comfort at all, they came in the land of hope, just to find themselves again locked up and everthing started again. Most of them got in America and had a hard but better life. I photograph the picture of a young girl waiting to get in ,this trough a fence that was part of the display. For me the photo of this girl is one of the best pieces of the museum.
I know there is a sister museum in the US, if somebody has pictures of that museum, would like to see them.
Today is day 50 of my journey on B&W, I have decided to try to make it a 100 days. Loving monochrome more and more and it is not just editing you pictures in B&W, some I shoot straight in monochrome, but many times I go out and some photos I think about, if they would look good in B&W.
