Being artistic

by Berckmans Peter June. 03, 2018 455 views

Here I am not going to explain what I saw or felt when taking this photo. Just tried to take it in a bit of artistic mood. I can tell you it is taken at an reanactment fair from the dark ages of Europe. There will be posts to follow.

Please feel free to judge this picture, positive or negative, all comment is welcome.

Maybe a good idea, that a part of the blog where you can enter photos to be judged by some semipro's or pro's.

I liked the mysterious expression on the woman's face......made me wonder what it was she was thinking/feeling about where her attention was focused.....

Hi Peter, can you explain what is that thing, that is to the left of the lady's head?

If you mean the red thing, it is the hat from another lady in front of her.

Yes the "red thing" exactly. that is my point.  I am not a photographer, far be it from me to offer a suggestion. A suggestion I will give, perhaps the same photo from a different vantage point would still have given your artistic mood a different perspective.

you could well be right here, also would have given a bit more depht, but that is one of the problems when it is not staged the picture. Thanks for the comment;

I am reading a book now..where one of the main characters is a P.I....he is in position where he needs to take a photo of a suspect...the author explains how the P.I. positions himself, to take several photos of the same suspicious subject. Maybe their is a lesson to be learned?

Honestly, I think the picture is not clear. The basket is sharp and it seems to be the main focus, not the face of the girl which is blurred.

Thanks Antonio for your honest opinion. Yes the focus was in front of the girl. I had hoped for a bit more movement ideal would have been ghosting in the face of the girl. But on a event like that I did not have the time to adjust all the settings. People don't stay in a position for long. The picture is a fifty-fifty case for me. Something I can learn out.

We are always learning, and this kind of street picture is one of the more challenging ones especially because, as you've said, there's no time to adjust all the settings.
