This bronze sculpture, by the Canadian artist Thimothy P. Schmalz, depicts a homeless Jesus a sleep on a park bench. Completly covered by a blanket yoy can only know it is jesus by the crucifixtion wounds on his feet. There are many copies from this artwork all over the world, from Canada to the USA over to Europe and I even think in Russia.
The one in Antwerp was agift to St Egidio, a laymen organisation who takes care of the poor and needy. It was given for their 50th birthday in Antwerp.
I found it a very interesting, touching work of art.
