In part 3 from our trip in Austria, I will take you to Eisriesenwelt or translated Ice-giant-world. it is the biggest Ice cave in the world. Located above the city of Werfen, around a height of 1640m above sealevel.
Getting there is a bit of a challenge. First you have to ride up a steep road to the parking. You can park the car at down on a parking and take a bus up if you not feel comfy driving in the mountains. Than you have to walk about 20 minutes ,constant climbing to a cable car that takes you up to 1586m in 3 minutes. Coming up there you have to walk again 20 min to the entrance of the cave. Or you can walk al the way up from parking to entrance a walk from around 1.5h.
At the entrance you have to koin a group to visit the cave. And there they tell you you have to do 1400 steps, 700 up and 700 down.Going as high as 1775m inside the cave. Taking photos not allowed. and almost not possible. There is no light in the cave ,you get a magnesium light and the guides burn flares inside what gives very nice effects.
The place is worth to visit when you are there. Standing in front of a 25m thick giant icewall is impressive.

I assume you don’t suffer from vertigo, great pics. Mxx
