After I had seen the post "Still life day " by my friend Abigail, I got a bit inspired to try my hand on some still lifes from myself.
First I had a browse through the work from Josef Sudek, and must say it is very much to my liking. His sill lifes are not the normal ones we see on paintings. When he uses the window from his atelier they are becoming very interesting.
So how to start on it. First I decided to use a vintage lens, not wanted the subjects to be very sharp like a modern lens. The Chinon 35mm f2.8 was the chosen one. Also I did not shy away from some high filmspeeds (iso ), wanted that bit of grain in it. Than the question ,shoot in color or straight in monochrome. Well it is done straight in monochrome, it limits details and shades. All of them are taken with natural light.
Next step was how to edit the photos. Well knowing me there is not much edit done on them. But I introduced some yellow in them at one point, what seemed to work.
This was my go on some still lifes, hope you like them and maybe you can give it a try. Thanks Abigail for the inspiration.
