As I am acardholder for the National plant gardens in Meise, Brussels, already for quite a few years. I visit it at a regular base. Last year they opened a woodlab, you can learn a lot about the different kinds of wood and what they are used for. It is quite educational but if you love wood it is very nice to visit. Personally I love the feel of wood and the smell, it is comforting and warm.

This slice of the Mamouthtree welcomes you to the woodlab. It came from america in 1958 for the world expo here in Brussels. The piece is about 2000 years old, and is impressive to see. It is on public display now, being lock up for more than 30 years.

Excellent series! Fascinating! Thank you!
