Second wave

It has come, earlier than expected, but it is here. The second Corona wave. My home city of Antwerp is hit hard this time. The daily infectioncurve is as steep as the mountainslope in this photo, and everyday rising at an alarming rate.

Belgium has taken more strict measures again and our city has some extra rules on top of the federal ones. We have a curfew from today and I got a paper, saying that I am needed for work, to go and come back from work. For most people it is not a surprise that it has come, some communities over here they could not care less and act as everything is normal. Many people went to holiday to Spain, Ibiza, Italy and many other places that still have problems. If you see the parties on social media in these places, yeah not normal.

So taking pictures gonna be confined again to what is around us. I hope we can turn this wave very fast, my fear is that the worst is still to come. And as usuall they have chosen economy over health here.

Everybody follow the rules and be safe. Take care.

Oh yeah almost forgot, I walked up this mountain.

Hey mate, I am really sorry about wave 2. In Western Australia (mainly because we are very remote) we have dodged it but other parts of Australia wave 2 is accelerating, in large cities (Melbourne and Sydney) with higher population density. My take is that wave 2 in Australia was due to "opening up too soon" and people being very casual about the whole thing. I hope it gets better very quickly for you. PS, I love Antwerp, I have travelled a lot and it was a very interesting, easy and comfortable place...

Your take on covid is correct, too fast to soon and people not caring. Glad you like my hometown. Hope everything turns soon.

Good luck.  We have been lucky here to this point.  Pretty well managed, but it is closing in from surrounding areas.

Sadly it's not different here.  Sadly because so many people do not want to comply with simple rules, and we  all  suffer.

Going up the mountain is going to be a lot like fighting the virus. We all need to use UVC in our HVAC and on surfaces. I will think of this mountain climb often in the coming months.+1
