Light and shadows

by Berckmans Peter September. 01, 2020 313 views

Give me a church where the light just falls in at a nice angle, and I am a happy camper.

I took this with monochrome in mind, even was thinking to take it straight in B&W. Luckely I did not do that. I like the colorversion a lot, it is the color of the wood that brakes this picture just fine. So I post both results.

I really like this comparison, Peter! For me, the richness of the color in the chairs makes it a more compelling photo.

I like the color much more. I see more structure especially in the iron grid, which is hard to recognize in the b&w.

Usually I like colors, when colors are so nice!
I appreciate mono,  when it's more about the structural aspects of a subject.....
Both of these, certainly have their own appeal, for me...

Always a treat!
Thank You!

I agree with you about churches. Great light and shadows and usually if old, lots of interesting details and textures.

We have a few big ones in the city. All are old. But only one Cathedral

I starred at the side by side and I thought to myself, if I say I like the colored better, Peter is going to say " I knew that, since you like color more than black and white". Then I read your comment and went "phewf" we are in agreement!. The color of the chairs and the rug really brings out the light. Even the grates are more luminous in the colored version. Nice way to show the difference smile

Putting photos next yo eachother so you can see them in one view is a good way to compare them.
