mills family lounge dedication

I had to borrow some of these photos from Dayton Children's Hospital as I forgot my camera today–how could I?! But today, one year to the day that Ally was diagnosed with leukemia, a lounge on the 4th floor hemoc area which she has frequented many times over the past year, was re-opened after being renovated. We have a family foundation that donated the funds and workers who donated their time to make this possible. Now it is a much more comfy room for those and their families who sometimes while battling cancer have to spend numerous days, weeks, even months in the hospital. We wish there weren't a need for this, but because there is, we hope that this room can be a comfort for those in need. We are in such a different place this year compared to last, and although Ally still has much more treatment ahead, the past week has been so uplifting and making me feel like only better days are ahead.

My cell phone pic–most of the rest were taken by Children's!

I just love this shot of Ally. And in her new hat that Children's had made (with the Ally's Army logo) for new patients who come in.

Ribbon cutting.

And now it's open!

Too bad I don't have pics of the before…

The handprints are from actual patients on the floor.

The new kitchenette area.

My sis's fam and my Dad.

Ally and her handprint.

Owen in his new hat!
