Snippets from Down Under

The blue of the sky and the blue of the water in Sydney are unique to that part of the world. Sydney is a city of contrasts - the quiet almost rural atmosphere contained within the urban sprawl, the hustle-bustle of a business capital combined with the redolence (is that even a word?) of a tropical island… each time I visit there, I like it more and more. Recommended by yours truly as a good vacation spot!

“Hello and welcome to my world”, she seems to say. Sydneysiders, as the residents of Sydney are called are friendly and inviting people. One rarely gets a frown and there are smiles aplenty.

This is at the Parramatta river front. The peace and quiet made it difficult for me to believe that I was about 30 minutes away from the town centre.

One can be mistaken for thinking this is an autumn picture. It was winter time, but the colours were so splendidly autumnal - and autumn is my favourite time of the year.

White tinged with violet and shades of pink. I can not get enough of this combination. Mother nature, I love you!
