It has been quite awhile since I had a photography gig. It was nice getting back out and being familiar with that joy I had when my eye was behind the viewfinder. That feeling of getting lost.
I still remember the first day I even discovered a camera. It was a cheap 35mm film camera. The thought of being able to capture a moment in time and hold onto it forever was fascinating to me. I took photographs of anything and everything.
I was maybe in the third grade when I discovered my love for photography. As I have gotten older, I am grateful I had this love. I have too many photos to even count over the years. Photographs of my family, friends, pets, my travels, etc. All moments caught in time that I can hold on to.
I am glad I am getting back into sharing my photos as well as writing. To think I used to do this all the time in my adolescence. Every day I just could not wait to get home from school, sit down at my computer and share with random strangers how my day was or the thoughts that were going through my mind. This was before MySpace, Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter. It was just myself and my thoughts.
With the recent climate, I wanted to start distancing myself from these social media platforms. To be honest, they are a breeding ground of negatives thoughts, bullies, and re-shared posts of news articles. Remember the days when social media was just about you and your life? Photos of your family, posts about your day, etc. Social media has definitely evolved into something much bigger and I just want to return back to when the internet was simple.
Hence, why I am now back with photo blogging. I do have a whole lot of photographs to share and stories to tell. I am looking forward to getting back into this and hope you as well can enjoy my journey. Now moving onward to some of the other photos I took today. Goodnight.
