Pupae

…this is the stage where the larvae/caterpillars undergo a complete transformation within a protective cocoon or woody material.

(i do not know what species of butterflies or moths these pupae belong to)

I am not too sure what had happened here. I think this had been attacked by ants or some other creatures.
