Llangollen Railway Winter Warmer Gala

The Dee valley is likely to become a dominant theme for the time being. For about 12 years I have been a member of the Llangollen railway a standard gauge heritage railway that runs through a beautiful stretch of the upper Dee valley.

Yesterday and today it has been running a very full timetable and three steam locos a diesel loco and a diesel multiple unit have all been operating.

This afternoon again on a dull cloudy day with very poor light I spent the latter part of the afternoon at Glyndwfrdwy Station.

Jennifer an industrial loco was restored at the railway workshops but until this weekend has not been used on this line.

Jennifer arrives with a train from Carrog bound for Llangollen.

Jennifer detail of cab.

Foxcote Manor departs with a train for Carrog.

These bring back happy memories of a family trip on the Llangollen railway when I was a teenager! :-)
