An evening walk.

A walk in the evening light starting to get to know my new toy. The manual is going to take some exploring. I think I might have a look and see what youtube has to offer in the way of helpful videos. Still, with it set very much in default mode I am pretty happy with these snaps. Where it does score over my beloved EM5 is the ability to bring clean detail out of deep shadows .

I am glad I was wearing wellies.

Beautiful photos, David. I see you fell for the Sony A7 - is this your farewell to M4/3?

No I think I will stay with the two systems. The A7 feels as though it will get a lot of use for landscapes. It has the full frame disadvantage of the weight and size of the lenses. I bought the Zeiss 24-70 f4 as a kit lens. Some kit lens, it is very sharp and lovely to handle but it is heavy. The A7 body is not too heavy and there are lightweight pancake primes being made for it which the photographer/sales assistant at Cambrian photography was very enthusiastic about.

That's interesting. I like the idea of full frame mirrorless but the added weight and size puts me off, especially having just come from a Canon 5D3! That said, if Canon's rumoured FF mirrorless camera is any good when it finally emerges I could still be persuaded as I've kept some of my Canon lenses. I'm looking forward to seeing more photos from the Sony.
