Yorkshire dales

Home earlier this evening from a few days of music and friends at Parceval Hall in Warfedale. Much of the time it was dark and often wet outside so there was the one walk to Troller's Gill. The beck was running fiercely and it was not possible to enter the gorge itself. The limestone was very polished and slippery and with one wrong step I would have been soaked to my knees or more. There was a group of youngsters doing a gorge walk all fully kitted up with waterproofs and helmets. I think fear of the black dog and the trolls no longer has any power!
