Role Reversal

Yesterday, the Salvation Army needed help….

A major construction accident happened yesterday when a building being demolished wasn't shored up properly, and all four stories collasped sideways on a block long Salvation Army store, 10.30 am yesterday.
A quick response and rescue was attributed to passerbys as well as a fire station a few doors down, on the same block. When they began to dig by hand, brick by brick until heavy cranes arrived.
At least 15 were rescued, including a woman who was found alive in the rubble 13 hours afterwards – unfortunately 6 others lost their lives.
Crews will remain on the scene until they reach the basement floor of the Salvation Army's two story building.

“Looked like a war zone…”
I was on an overpass two stories up.

A building to the left of this one was being demolished…the last wall of it wasn't secured - it fell on this four story apartment building (vacant), which in turn, demolished the block long Salvation Army store.

The two front walls of the Salvation Army were all that was left standing…

Local news anchor getting ready….

News outlets from across the country were there…
