Went to Auckland Art Gallery, this is the old part of the building, designed based on a French Chateau.

And this is the wonderful new entrance, design based on modern New Zealand, it does work with the old building as the scale and colours match. I love the wooden pillars at the entrance, the design is reminiscent of tree ferns. We had a very quick look around through the New Zealand art bit and then went and had flash coffee at the lovely cafe which is on the terrace on the left.

Bit of Art with a water reflection at the entrance.

In the atrium is a superb flower chandelier. The flowers move gently, as if in a breeze. The space in the atrium is often used as an art class for schools, so the space gets used well.

A sculpture opposite the museum - a fantail on a ring.
