Phnom Penh- backpacker zone

Now I'm back in the city, I didn't get back to the busy city central area, instead, I went to the backpacker hot zone at the Boeung Kak Lake.

There are indeed packed with young travellers, after checking out the $4 room, I didn't really feel comfortable there, and went for the $12 room at a nice old-villa-looking place.

This is when I wish I have a travel-buddy, not only to share expenses, to talk to, and mostly to feel more secure when looking for places to stay.

The sunset over the lake is the attraction here, so I might go have dinner at one of the restaurant right on the edge of the lake. Hopefully to finally catch a Cambodian sunset.

Guess what!!
I ran into my friends, Julie and Sarah at the restaurant by the lakeside. And while we were having dinner there, a mass of black cloud rolled in all of a sudden bring about half an hour of thunder-rain-storm. Even for me, who's used to Taiwan's tropical typhoons, was hypotized by the sight. Because instead of the little patches of sky we get to see through the city sky-scrapers, over the lake, we got to see a whole horizon struck by lightenings here and there, and the wind and rain brushing by us at high velocity. It was quite a sight.

Then, Julie and Sarah were going to the Shawdow Puppet show, which I highly recommended them. It was really nice to share infomation around.

And, I will move to guesthouse that the girls are staying at, since it is a quite decent place, clean and nice, for only $4.

I will be my last day tomorrow in Cambodia, I hope to visit some places that I missed, and try to get to know this place as much as I can.
