Nest Construction - Another Sign of Spring

What a joy to see a Robin building her nest in a bush right next to my back door. The nest is in a location that should provide good viewing of the eggs and baby birds as things progress. And of course a series of photos will follow that progression.

Momma retreated to a nearby tree when I unexpectedly came between her and her construction project. I had no idea a nest was being built there until this confrontation.

She remained shy and timid as long as I was in the back yard.

Tirelessly toiling to be ready in time.

And this is her new crib. Not quite finished, but not far from it! Little blue eggs will fill it soon.

This is a great set! We had a wren build a nest just outside our bathroom window and my kids loved watching the eggs turn into baby birds, then watching them fly off! Can't wait for your series!

Wow, these are great shots of nest building in action. You did quite well to manage to get these without scaring her away! We look forward to the series.
