In Drydock on the Elizabeth River

by Ray King July. 08, 2010 4562 views

The Elizabeth River is a short tidal estuary forming an arm of Hampton Roads at the southern end of Chesapeake Bay in southeast Virginia. It is located along the southern side of the mouth of James River, between the cities of Portsmouth and Norfolk. The water area known as Hampton Roads (informally known locally as “the harbor”) is one of the world's biggest natural harbors, and incorporates the mouths of the Elizabeth River and James River with several smaller rivers and itself empties into the Chesapeake Bay near its mouth leading to the Atlantic Ocean

The Berkley Bridge leading to Chesapeake and a tunnel to Portsmouth.

The was shot from the Norfolk Town Point Area.

Now these are from the Tidewater Area WE remember! #5 shows the size and power of these ships - and #6 is an exceptionally pretty shot - great lighting and ambiance.

Wow, these are beautiful. #4 is my favorite. Did you edit any of these? The lights and reflections on the water are stunning.
