Good Luck or Not?

What do you think? Does an elephant rendering, of any sort, with it's trunk up bring good luck? I understand that the roots of such belief began long ago in India.
It didn't bring me much luck with this poor edit!

I have several elephants in my house with no particular emphasisi on how the trunk is positioned, and I don't think they had much influence on my life... or did they?

I'd never heard that elephant "good luck" story. If it's true, I'm going out to buy one!
