My First Butterfly Sighting of the Year

I try to keep my camera in close range when I'm doing yard work. Never know when a surprise visitor might stop by.

What a beauty, such sharp focus and I love the contrasting colours, it makes it pop out of the screen... It looks almost 3D!

Looks like a Monarch butterfly. Did you know it takes SEVEN GENERATIONS for the Monarchs to complete their migration one way each year!!! So, if you're the fourth generation, and just popped out of your cocoon, how do you know whether to go North or South? Amazing!!
