Thank you, Peter. I get so frustrated I am having a hard time with Nikon. I love Canon with my landscape shoots, the colors are great. With Nikon I am having difficulty with the adjustments. But I find it great with close-up shots...
Do you take formal lessons on photography or just by yourself? There are plenty of classes here in Japan but they are too expensive. The cheaper ones are the group meet-ups but unfortunately for me outings are held either Saturday or Sunday which I have work.
I do it myself, internet and this place. Also I look at a lot of pictures. The best gear you can buy are photobooks. Started with basics and get to know your camera. If you know the basics, use them but not get stuck in them. Be creative and not be affraid to fail. It is all in the game
Have fun with your new camera

Have a bit of the same problem with Fuji. Close shoots are superb, like landscapes really have to tone the colors down
