Safety valve

There's a storm brewing, I gather. I've been locked up in my office for what feels like an eternity. I will have to pull an all-nighter to meet my deadlines.

I snuck out to breathe the heavy, gusty air and remember what it feels like to look at something other than a monitor.

On a whim, I took a photograph of myself outside my front door. Note haggard, unshaved look and stoop. Charity donation details available upon request.

Minimum post-processing in Lightroom 3. Images captured with a 5DII and a 16-35 f/2.8 L II.

Someone likes their flowers

This is the door in the Zen II post.

The houses do actually tilt forwards.

More of the famous house. Jarvo says Edith Piaf lived there. My money's on Elvis.

Caught in the act

Muggins. The geometry of this image is bugging me. Either I am tilting alarming to the right or my house experienced a minor seismic shock. Hmmm. Go figure. No, just worked it out: I got myself in the lens' central axis. Woohoo…

Yes it is a safety valve, even a lifeline at times. Good images and a very human thought tying them together

You look like I feel. Hope you get a break soon. Lovely pictures. I keep coming back to them. Make me want to be there so I can explore.
You think the old lady is Elvis?

You are a very fascinating person Stefan!:) The town you live in certainly has that old world charm about it. The angles are great in these shots. I have not seen front doors like you have. I like it!

Nice angles...are you smiling or grimacing in that last shot? Good luck with deadlines.

I'm glad I got to see the entire house of Elvis ;)
I was wondering how it looks.
Charming neighborhood.
I love the blue doors of your house.
Hope you will get deknackered soon :)

I think that's one of the best self portraits you've taken. Glad you got out to get the cobwebs blown out. Hope you meet your deadlines.

Great first shot, those flowers look as if they are spilling out of the window. Were 3 and 6 taken with a tilt shift lens? ;-)

I love looking at your world and these are charming shots. Maybe you should try tilting at windmills!

Great set, hope you manage escape to freedom soon! How are you finding Lightroom 3? I'm trying to justify the cost of the upgrade to myself at the moment!

Had to do a double take, as that last shot looks like you were messing with a medium format... Nice work.

Does everyone lock themselves in their homes when you walk the street?
