Hommage à Mick Jagger

by Stefan Fletcher July. 08, 2010 4833 views

I have never forgiven The Rolling Stones for screwing over The Verve on the copyright for the song Bittersweet Symphony [youtube.com]. This is my revenge.

Please do look at the Joy Challenge post yesterday.

Went to have lunch with a dear friend in Arles, the photographic Mecca of France. The Voies Off expo is taking place and a deconsecrated church was used to house an exhibition of photographs of Mick Jagger

Clearly, the organisers have a sense of humour. I found this hilarious. Better bigger.

But this is what I really think of Mick Jagger. Yes, it's exactly what you think it is and can be found in the jazz bar shown here [photoblog.com]. The shadow cast by this wonderful implement is an added and undreamed of bonus, which I swear I didn't Photoshop. Sometimes nature gets it right. Even better bigger (the image, of course).

Can't believe I chickened out of attempting the urinal. Maybe I'd better start practicing for next time.

I'd like to use that urinal. Had to rewrite that. The first attempt was a shade too risqué.

Very interesting set. Not sure how I'd feel about going for a slash in a giant model of Mick's lips though. And the question on my lips - what's MJ like as a photographer?

What will they think of next? Maybe we need Marcel Duchamp to turn it into art!

Hmm:
This video contains content from EMI. It is no longer available in your country. I see when I clicked the link.

Stones fan I have never been and I will probably never be. Not for any reason, just not my genre.

But that first shot, that is a style I like very much!!
