P80: tides

by Stefan Fletcher March. 21, 2015 1610 views

Time, tides and solar eclipses wait for no man. I was driving across northern France under dense cloud cover during the solar eclipse, but I did manage to catch the exceptional hide tides on 21 March.

A scale of 20 to 120 is used for tides in France. The 21 March tides were at 119, a phenomenon not to be experienced again for another 20+ years. On Sunday, 22 March at 7.50 a.m., I went to shoot the same places at the ebb.

How I miss the sea - Jill and I would walk out to meet the tide as children - we were well drilled as to the dangers.
Beautiful images ... I can smell the sea on the wind.
