New York Take 2: Day 1.
I was up as early as the girls to be out for the cleaner as it wasn't done last night so I had to find a way to fill the day. I started with a bacon bagel from Dunkin Donuts and then decided to take a walk and didn't stop for a few hours!
First was the Williamsburg Bridge, very functional and long but great views over the city and the morning mist burned off as I joined the commuters on the way into Manhatten.
It ends right downtown and I had a pit stop in Washington Square Park first before heading all the way up 5th Avenue to Central Park. There I sunbathed, read a bit and napped to pass the time, can't say it was difficult.
My feet were now starting to throb so I called it a day, seemed fair after walking about 26k steps! I skyped my parents once I had got back to Caroline's as Dad was heading away on hockey tour tomorrow to Bremmen with the Bangor Oldies. Then I watched some Netflix on the roof and then I decided to make a start on the Ikea bed, having picked up a screwdriver in CVS earlier. It was the least I could do for Caroline putting me up for so long and doing a big food shop today for us.
It took three of us ages to finish the bed due to a comlicated screw process. By which stage Caroline had made dinner and Libby's friend Lois had arrived. We ate dinner on the roof and then had tea and hobnobs in bed.
