The wedding day!

I was up at my usual body clock time of half 6 which today was fine and I got fully ready and was then able to help Mum with her hair and makeup. We arrived at Bright Parish Church an hour before the wedding - the same time as the photographers! But it meant we got into a pew without any fuss or rush.

The ceremony was lovely and Uncle Stewart was the most emotional, after Rebecca's mum! It was blowing a gale outside which made the confetti a bit hard to juggle with and we were all literally holding on to our hats!

They drove away in an old Ford escort which had been restored by Rebecca's Dad and brother. The next stop was the Loughside Inn for some Pimms and sandwiches and then on to the Slieve Donnard for the reception.

The tables were lovely too and we were all at the 'cousins' table'. Got to meet Andrew's girlfriend Gemma but after dinner we didn't see her much. The speeches were long and a lot to do with farming...

David's speech was really sweet, and the best man was very funny.

We were all starving by the time dinner came around and then all sleepy afterwards when we were stuffed full!

I went to the bar with Auntie Irene, Gillian, Ian, John and Mum and Dad for a drink whilst they got ready for the party bit. They had a ceilidh! Lewis was my dance partner for most of the night and we had a ball jigging about the place - even Uncle William got convinced to join in once.

Eventually though we were all flagging so called it a night around 12pm, said our goodbyes to anyone we could find at the time and then Mum drove us home.

It was a great wedding, so happy for them. And also great to have the whole of that side of the family together for the first time ever!
