Today we all went for a drive into the Chichibu ranges in the Saitama prefecture about 75kms north of Tokyo. We drove there for two reasons; to witness the autumn colours and to see a famous old shrine called Mitsumine.
The colours of autumn are always spectacular here and we were just viewing a little late regarding the peak time of their beauty, but never the less the greens, golds, reds, yellows, oranges and browns were stunning!
After winding our way up to the top of Mitsumine mountain we arrived at the shrine. This shrine was quite impressive. It was built 1900 year ago!! So it was completed in 110ad!!! Quite an amazing feat considering how complex and intricately designed and finished it is!! The Shrine complex was quite vast with many buildings and alters and head stones scattered all around the mountain peak. The photos i have posted only do the shrine half justice as there was so much beauty and elements to encapsulate!

Anyhoo i hope you enjoy, it was a fantastic day for all!!
