A walk to the market - it is bitterly cold, only two-thirds of the stalls are there. My vegetable stall is there - but his lettuces have frozen its so cold!! The coffee stall is there (thank goodness). But there is no pie stall (disgraceful - just the thing for cold weather - and no tomato stall (though other stalls have tomatoes so not a disaster).
I buy potatoes, courgettes, mange-tout, mushrooms, spring onions and corriander. Then Toulouse sausages, black pudding and bacon, then granola, then brie (from favourite French cheese stall) and then Cheshire (from favourite English cheese stall), and currant and walnut bread. And then I queue for ages for a pork and stilton burger (delicious) and then another queue for a second coffee. And then home - cold but happy!
But I really missed the pie man!
Will the pie man please return to Broadway Market immediately!
