And so the walk went on….
In the pictures we start at Agios Ioannis Theologos where there is cool shade, lovely water from a cistern behind, and views through the trees to Ag Emilianos. This was a delightful rest!
Wes et off again through the juniper forest starting to make our way downwards. Then as we left the forest we were on a narrower path going steeply downhill over rocky ground- it was hard going and I fell down once - so not so many pictures!
Then we reach the bottom and my heart sank as I realised that to get to out destination we had to climb up another steep rocky hillside first.
But eventually - and towards the rear of our group I arrived at the jetty that leads to the Monastry - and to the boat that was moored there and waiting for me was …
a glass of ouzo - I think it was the nicest ouzo I've ever had!
We were not walking back ( thank goodness - it was 12 noon now and very hot!) but going on a cruise round the island.
